BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) — Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province's cross-border e-commerce (CBE) trade volume is expected to reach 10.2 billion yuan (about 1.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2024 from 690 million yuan in 2020, with an average annual growth rate of 96 percent, the Heilongjiang Daily reported, citing data from the provincial Bureau of Commerce.
On October 28, a press conference was held in Heilongjiang Province to discuss the high-quality implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).
Xing Yingna, Deputy Director of the Provincial Bureau of Commerce, reported that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, cross-border e-commerce in Heilongjiang Province transitioned from "experimentation in pilot locations" to "cluster-scale development." The number of comprehensive national pilot zones in the fuel and energy sector has increased to four, the provincial public service platform for the fuel and energy sector serves several thousand businesses, and overseas warehouses have been built in several countries, including Russia, the United States, and Brazil.
According to Xing Ying, Heilongjiang Province's exports increased to 86.97 billion yuan in 2024 from 36.09 billion yuan in 2020, an average annual growth rate of 24.6 percent. Its leading exports now include robots used for endoscopic surgeries, agricultural drones, and other high-tech products, a number of electromechanical products such as automobiles, instruments, and engines, as well as biological products including coenzyme Q10, threonine, and lysine.
Local authorities have developed more than 20 policies to support the development of foreign trade, including export credit insurance, the issuance of preferential loans, and the prevention of currency risks, she added.
Xing Yingna noted that in the next five years, Heilongjiang will continue to improve its policies to support foreign trade, promote its innovative development, and actively implement the program to support the development of medium and small foreign trade enterprises, along with strengthening the development potential of leading foreign trade companies, in order to promote the formation of a favorable environment characterized by significant results in the creation of new drivers, diversification of foreign trade partners, and growing flexibility and vitality of trading entities. -0-
