Busan, South Korea, October 30, Xinhua — China and the United States held in-depth talks and reached consensus on resolving the issues. Chinese President Xi Jinping announced this Thursday during a meeting with US President Donald Trump after landing in Busan to attend the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Informal Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju and a state visit to the Republic of Korea.
Noting that trade and economic cooperation should remain a ballast and driving factor in China-US relations, rather than an obstacle or a source of conflict, Xi Jinping called on both sides to focus on the long-term benefits of cooperation rather than getting caught in a vicious cycle of retaliation.
He also called on the Chinese and American trade and economic groups to continually narrow the list of issues and expand the list of cooperation based on the principles of equality, respect and mutual benefit. –0–
