Busan, Republic of Korea, October 30, Xinhua — China's economy is like a boundless ocean: vast, resilient, and promising, China is confident and capable of overcoming all types of risks and challenges. Chinese President Xi Jinping said this Thursday during a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump after landing in Busan to attend the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju and a state visit to the Republic of Korea.
Xi Jinping emphasized that China's economic development is on the rise. He said the country's economy grew by 5.2 percent in the first three quarters of this year, while imports and exports increased by 4 percent. He emphasized that this had not been easy, given the domestic and external challenges.
At the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC CC), proposals for developing the 15th Five-Year Plan for Social and Economic Development (2026-2030) were approved, Xi Jinping noted.
For the past 70 years, we have been working on the same plan from generation to generation to bring it to life, he said.
"We have no intention of challenging or replacing any country," Xi Jinping said. "We have always focused on effectively managing China's own affairs, improving ourselves, and providing development opportunities for all countries around the world. This is an important secret to our success."
China will continue to deepen reforms across the board, expand opening-up, and promote higher-quality economic growth while achieving appropriate growth in output, and promote all-round human development and shared prosperity, the Chinese leader said.
He expressed confidence that this would also expand opportunities for cooperation between China and the United States. –0–
