At the invitation of President Lee Jae-myung of the Republic of Korea (ROK), President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China will visit Gyeongju, ROK, from October 30 to November 1 to attend the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and pay a state visit to the ROK.
Eduardo Pedrosa, Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat, noted: "I look forward to President Xi Jinping's participation in this meeting. China has always been a strong supporter and important participant in APEC."
Pedrosa emphasized that the Beijing Declaration and other documents adopted at the APEC meeting in Beijing in 2014 “continue to serve as an important guide for advancing our work.”
Herman Tiu Laurel, Director of the Asian Century Institute for Strategic Studies in the Philippines, stated, "President Xi Jinping has been participating in informal APEC leaders' meetings and delivering important speeches for many years.
