Paris, October 30 (Xinhua) — An armed robbery was committed at a precious metals laboratory in the southeastern French city of Lyon on Thursday afternoon, French media reported.
Witnesses said they heard a loud explosion as the attackers allegedly blew out the security windows, then loaded the loot into a van and fled the scene.
The attack reportedly occurred around 1:30 PM local time, with significant police presence at the scene. Authorities noted that five laboratory employees sustained minor injuries and were treated by firefighters.
Law enforcement agencies later detained five suspects "along with the loot" and placed them in custody. Investigators are currently determining the sequence of events and the type of explosive used.
