During the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in the Republic of Korea, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk visited the parish of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers in Gyeongju.
The delegation was accompanied by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Korea Georgy Zinoviev and staff of the Russian embassy.
The guests were greeted by His Eminence Archbishop Feofan of Korea, Administrator of the Korean Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, and representatives of the local community. His Eminence gave Alexey Overchuk and Georgy Zinoviev a tour of the church, during which he spoke about the history and current life of the Orthodox community, which cares for Russian-speaking believers and Korean Orthodox Christians. Particular attention was paid to the Korean Diocese's efforts to preserve spiritual and cultural ties with Russia.
