Colombo, October 29 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka's economy will grow by 3.1 percent in 2026, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast at a recent press conference.

Sri Lanka is experiencing a strong economic recovery and the government continues to implement its IMF-supported reform program, said Thomas Helbling, Deputy Director of the IMF's Asia-Pacific Department.

According to him, the country's economy grew by 5 percent in 2024 and by 4.8 percent in the first half of 2025. –0–
