Moscow, October 29 /Xinhua/ — China is developing at an unprecedented pace. The materials of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, which concluded on October 23 in Beijing, identified ensuring high-quality economic growth based on scientific and technological progress and the development of high technology as one of the main priorities of China's 15th Five-Year Social and Economic Development Plan. Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), actively supported this decision of the CPC Central Committee Plenary Session.
"The plenary session's materials placed particular emphasis on the development of scientific and technological progress, but specifically on the basis of self-sufficiency and independence in high technology. This is an absolutely right goal," Zyuganov said in an interview with Xinhua.
According to him, in a world facing extremely serious challenges, overcoming all difficulties "can only be achieved through a highly developed economy and strong political will. The CPC Central Committee Plenary Session demonstrated these exceptionally important qualities."
"Your country is developing at an unprecedented rate. Over the past 30 years, the average growth rate has been almost 10 percent. Your products are known throughout the world and on every continent. Any economy, any country, and any party can be proud of this," the leader of the Russian Communists emphasized.
G. Zyuganov praised the fact that the Chinese Communist Party's policy is centered on "the people, their well-being, and the goal of achieving universal prosperity for all citizens of the country." He called this a "historic task."
