RIYADH, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice President Han Zheng addressed the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference here on Tuesday, calling for joint efforts to pursue win-win cooperation and achieve common prosperity.
Promoting development and prosperity is the common aspiration of the international community and a common task facing all countries, especially developing countries, Han Zheng noted.
According to him, the concept of building a community with a shared future for humanity, as well as the Initiative for Global Development, the Initiative for Global Security, the Initiative for Global Civilization, and the Initiative for Global Governance put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, have charted a course for all countries to achieve peaceful development and common prosperity.
Speaking at a leading investment forum, China's vice president put forward four proposals.
First, strengthen innovative development and promote green growth. Han Zheng emphasized that China is accelerating the creation of an open, globally competitive innovation ecosystem and developing new, high-quality productive forces suited to local conditions. China is ready to work with all countries to promote cooperation between traditional, emerging, and future industries, continuously stimulate development momentum, and facilitate the green and low-carbon transformation of the global economy.
Second, adhere to openness and cooperation and promote mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Noting that China has always adhered to the fundamental national policy of openness, Han Zheng stated that China is not only a beneficiary of economic globalization but also a contributor, advocate, and promoter.
Third, promote people-centered development and strive for shared prosperity. He stated that China has always adhered to the people-centered development philosophy and, in its modernization process, promotes the all-round development of individuals and the common prosperity of all its people.
Fourth, strengthen shared visions and deepen solidarity and coordination. He said that in the face of growing global challenges, the destinies of countries are interconnected, and it is necessary to seek common ground in visions based on mutual respect.
Noting that China and the Middle East have a long history of friendship and cooperation, Han Zheng said China is willing to work with Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region to deepen friendly cooperation, promote high-quality cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative, and build a more multidimensional model of energy cooperation.
The Chinese Vice President proposed that both sides step up efforts to achieve new progress in financial and investment cooperation, promote new achievements in cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and explore new horizons of innovative cooperation to make new contributions to the development and prosperity of countries in the region and create new opportunities for global growth.
