KUALA LUMPUR, October 28 (Xinhua) — China is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation with Malaysia to implement the four global initiatives proposed by China, put genuine multilateralism into practice, and safeguard international justice. Chinese Premier Li Qiang made this statement on Tuesday during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the East Asia Cooperation Meetings.
He noted that China and Malaysia are good neighbors and partners that can trust each other.
In September, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with A. Ibrahim in Beijing, where they reached a new important consensus on deepening the construction of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future, the prime minister said.
Noting that China has always regarded Malaysia as a priority in its good-neighbor diplomacy, Li Qiang expressed Beijing's willingness to maintain close high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic coordination, deepen practical cooperation, continue to implement bilateral consensus, and bring benefits to both peoples.
The Prime Minister noted that the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee reviewed and adopted proposals for drafting the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Expressing China's willingness to strengthen synergies with Malaysia's 13th Development Plan, Li Qiang said China is also willing to deepen the implementation of the five-year economic and trade cooperation program between the two countries, strengthen bilateral economic and trade ties, and tap the potential of cooperation in new areas such as the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and new energy to create new growth drivers for Malaysia.
The Prime Minister called on both sides to expand humanitarian exchanges to strengthen the social foundation for friendship between the two countries.
China highly values Malaysia's important role as the rotating chair of ASEAN and is willing to work with all parties to implement the outcomes of the East Asia Cooperation Meetings to inject more stability and positive energy into regional peace and development, Li Qiang said.
