Dhaka, October 28 (Xinhua) — The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Public Health in Bangladesh on Monday reported 983 new cases of dengue fever and six new deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 66,423 and the death toll to 269.
According to DGHS, 19,081 cases of dengue fever were reported in October and 15,866 cases in September.
The total number of deaths was 71 in October and 76 in September.
Dengue fever, usually found in Bangladesh during the monsoon season, is now spreading outside the usual period of June to September. –0–
