BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) — Five Central Asian countries retained their status as the largest trading partners of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) in the first three quarters of 2025. XUAR's foreign trade turnover with these countries amounted to 215.73 billion yuan (approximately $30.4 billion), or 54.9 percent of Xinjiang's total foreign trade, the Xinjiang Daily reported.
According to local customs data, Xinjiang's foreign trade turnover reached a record high of 393.14 billion yuan in January-September this year, up 22.1 percent year-on-year, and 18.1 percentage points higher than the national average.

Xinjiang's trade turnover with Africa, West Asia, and Latin America grew by 149.1 percent, 102.4 percent, and 107 percent, respectively.
Private enterprises remain the leading force behind Xinjiang's foreign trade. Specifically, their total export volume of electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and solar panels increased by 41.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
Urumqi Customs Deputy Director Li Qinghua noted that in the future, Urumqi Customs will focus on building the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, continuously improving supervision efficiency and service levels, ensuring the smooth operation of the Asia-Europe channel, and promoting the development of enterprises, so as to give greater impetus to the high-quality development of Xinjiang's foreign trade. -0-
