SHANGHAI, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) — A total of 2.05 million vehicles were exported through Shanghai Port in the first three quarters of 2025, up 15 percent year-on-year and accounting for more than a third of China's total vehicle exports during the period, according to Shanghai Customs data.

The Waigaoqiao Port Area in Shanghai's Pudong New Area has exported more than 1 million vehicles annually for four consecutive years.

According to customs data, exports through the Haitong International Automobile Terminal—one of China's largest automobile export terminals and the world's largest roll-on/roll-off terminal for importing and exporting automobiles—exceeded 1.1 million units, a 14.2 percent year-on-year increase and a record high for the terminal. New energy vehicles accounted for more than 60 percent of these exports.

The terminal currently serves 289 ports in 131 countries and regions worldwide, with an average of two to three Ro-Ro vessels daily delivering Chinese-made vehicles to global markets. -0-
