SINGAPORE, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Singapore on Saturday for an official visit at the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
According to Li Qiang, over the 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, bilateral ties have maintained good momentum, political mutual trust between the two sides has continued to deepen, pragmatic cooperation has borne rich fruit, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges have become increasingly close, which has become a model of mutual learning and win-win cooperation between the two countries.
Under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Singaporean leaders, China-Singapore relations have seen renewed momentum in recent years, the Premier stated. Having established a comprehensive, high-quality, and future-oriented partnership, the two sides have deepened cooperation in various fields, bringing great benefits to the peoples of both countries and making a positive contribution to regional peace and development, he added.
China stands ready to work with Singapore to strengthen the alignment of development strategies, comprehensively expand mutually beneficial cooperation, continue joint efforts for modernization, and increase contributions to maintaining genuine multilateralism and promoting common development in the region, the Premier noted.
