Moscow, October 24 (Xinhua) — A meeting between representatives of Beijing's Changping District and the Western Administrative District (ZAO) of Moscow was held in Moscow. The parties discussed developing cooperation and friendly exchanges in education, culture and tourism, economics and trade, information technology, healthcare, environmental protection, and urban planning.
The Beijing delegation was led by Zhao Shiwei, Deputy Head of the Changping District Administration. The meeting was hosted on the Russian side by Alexey Alexandrov, Prefect of the Western Administrative District of Moscow.
A. Alexandrov called this meeting "a continuation of the dialogue" that began in May in Beijing. At that time, a delegation from the Moscow region visited Changping, and a memorandum of cooperation was signed.
"We are united by shared values. Both Russia and China honor cultural traditions. It is on this solid foundation that we are building a partnership focused on achieving concrete results for the residents of our cities," noted A. Alexandrov.
Following the talks, the parties expressed their willingness to expand multi-level cooperation and signed an agreement establishing friendly exchange and cooperation between Beijing's Changping District and Moscow's Western Administrative District. According to the document, priority areas of cooperation include tourism, education, healthcare, and the environment. Representatives of the two capitals' districts also agreed to an ongoing exchange of best practices.
