Moscow, October 23 (Xinhua) — An explosion rocked a factory in Kopeysk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, on Wednesday evening. Ten people have been confirmed dead, Chelyabinsk Oblast Governor Alexey Teksler announced on Telegram.
"Ten people have been confirmed dead. Search efforts are ongoing. Five people have been hospitalized. Their condition is stable but serious," A. Teksler wrote, adding that doctors are continuing to fight for the lives of those injured in the explosion.
According to him, the fire at the scene has been extinguished and the area is currently being surveyed.
"The fire has been extinguished. A survey of the area is underway. A team from the Ural Rescue Training Center has arrived to clear the rubble. A team of 10 specialists from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' psychological service has been dispatched to the scene," the governor noted.
