Moscow, October 23 (Xinhua) — Russia and Ukraine have exchanged the bodies of fallen service members. Ukraine received 1,000 bodies from Russia, while Russia received 31. This was reported to the RBC media holding by State Duma Deputy Shamsail Saraliev, a representative of the parliamentary coordination group on military operations.

“An exchange of 31 for 1,000 took place. 31 bodies of the deceased were returned to Russia,” stated Sh. Saraliev.

Russia and Ukraine have already carried out several exchanges of bodies of fallen servicemen. Agreements on exchanges, including for prisoners and the seriously wounded, were reached during talks in Istanbul in early summer.
