WENCHANG, HAINAN, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) — China on Thursday launched a satellite into space from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center in south China's Hainan Province to test new communications technologies.

The spacecraft, launched at 10:30 pm Beijing time by the Long March-5 launch vehicle, successfully entered its designated orbit.

The satellite will be primarily used to conduct validation tests of multi-band and high-speed communication technologies.

The current launch was the 602nd flight mission for the Long March series launch vehicles. –0–
