Beijing, October 23 (Xinhua) — China is calling on the European Union to immediately lift the inclusion of Chinese companies in the 19th round of EU sanctions against Russia. This was stated by a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in response to a media question on Thursday.
Despite repeated representations and attempts by China to dissuade the EU, the European side, despite all odds, continued to pursue its course, including Chinese companies in the 19th package of its anti-Russian sanctions and, for the first time, imposing restrictions on major Chinese oil refining and sales companies, the official representative noted, emphasizing that China expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolute disagreement with these steps.

China calls on the EU to immediately lift its sanctions on Chinese companies and refrain from continuing down this erroneous path, the official said. He pledged that China will take all necessary measures to resolutely protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, as well as its own energy security and economic development.
