Kyiv, October 22 (Xinhua) — On Wednesday night, Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked two facilities in Russia, including the Saransk Mechanical Plant in the Republic of Mordovia and the Makhachkala Oil Refinery in the Republic of Dagestan. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported this on Telegram.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Saransk Mechanical Plant produces anti-personnel engineering ammunition, mine kits, ammunition detonators, and initiation units.
According to the report, the Makhachkala Oil Refinery's primary purpose is to supply fuel to the Caspian Fleet naval base and Russian military vessels. It is claimed that during the attack on the facility, a hit was recorded on one of the refining units.
