Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the added value of China's manufacturing industry has exceeded 30 trillion yuan annually, and the overall scale of its manufacturing industry has ranked first in the world for 15 consecutive years. These astonishing figures demonstrate the powerful momentum of China's industrial development.

The manufacturing industry is the backbone of the national economy, the foundation of the state, and the mainstay of a powerful nation. Since the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, China's manufacturing industry, despite external pressure, has become even more powerful.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's manufacturing added value is projected to grow by 8 trillion yuan, contributing over 30% to global manufacturing growth. China's advantage in having the most comprehensive manufacturing system is becoming increasingly evident: among the world's 504 major industrial commodities, China ranks first in terms of production volume for the majority of them.

From 2020 to 2024, average annual value added growth in the equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing sectors was 7.9% and 8.7%, respectively. New energy vehicle production increased from approximately 1.4 million units in 2020 to over 13 million units in 2024, and China has maintained first place in the world in terms of production and sales volume for 10 consecutive years.

A number of significant achievements have been achieved in key industrial chains such as integrated circuit, industrial machine tool, medical equipment, and ship manufacturing. Over a hundred standards have been developed and over a thousand patents have been registered. The problem of a weak industrial foundation is gradually being addressed, and the level of independence and controllability of key industrial chains is steadily increasing.

Nowadays, China has less and less of what it cannot produce, and what it does produce is being produced at an ever higher level.

In the first half of this year, the manufacturing industry's share of added value in GDP reached 25.7%. Maintaining a sustainable share of manufacturing is impossible without the targeted work of enterprises focused on the real sector and the development of their operations.

More than 570 Chinese industrial enterprises are among the top 2,500 global companies by R&D investment. Last year, Chinese industrial companies filed 1.244 million patent applications.

With the start of the new five-year plan, the "Made in China" brand will shine even brighter.
