GUANGZHOU, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) — The Flood, Drought and Typhoon Control Headquarters of south China's Guangdong Province on Monday issued a Level 4 emergency response as Typhoon Fengshen, the 24th typhoon this year, entered the South China Sea.
The Guangdong provincial government has taken all necessary measures, including recalling all fishing vessels to port for shelter from the typhoon, evacuating personnel from fish farms and marine aquaculture facilities, and imposing a ban on fishing and visiting coastal scenic areas.
Local authorities have urged increased monitoring and public safety measures to minimise potential risks. -0-
