Bashneft Oil Company (part of Rosneft) has summarized the results of large-scale reforestation efforts in 2025. In the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Tyumen Region, the Company planted 255,000 trees, establishing a young forest on an area of 73 hectares.
A key project was the planting of 24,000 trees on the shore of Lake Aslikul, the largest lake in Bashkortostan. The initiative aims to address an environmental issue: shallowing and swamping of the lake's coastal zone. Specialists from the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences confirm that planting conifers is an effective method for preserving this unique body of water. Bashkir oil workers began restoring the forest around Aslikul in the fall of 2023 and have already planted over 102,000 pine and larch seedlings on an area of over 25 hectares near the lake.
In addition, employees of Bashneft's subsidiaries and branches planted pine and spruce seedlings in various cities and districts of Bashkortostan and the Tyumen Region. The largest forests were planted by Bashneft-Dobycha (Bashneft's key production facility), with nearly 210,000 trees, and Sorovskneft (Bashneft's production facility in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug), with over 16,000 trees.
Preserving the environment for future generations is an integral part of Rosneft's corporate culture. The company implements large-scale environmental programs aimed at minimizing its environmental impact, improving the sustainability of its production, and preserving and replenishing natural ecosystems.
The greening initiatives are a continuation of the company's comprehensive program. Since 2020, Bashneft has planted more than 5.5 million trees across 1,600 hectares.
