BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) — General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping on Sunday congratulated Zheng Liwen on her election as chairwoman of the Kuomintang (KMT).
Zheng Liwen won Taiwan's election on Saturday with 50.15 percent of the vote.
Xi Jinping expressed the hope that the two political parties, adhering to the common political foundation, will unite Taiwan compatriots to deepen exchanges and cooperation, advance common development, and promote national reunification.
