DHAKA, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) — A major fire broke out at the cargo terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday, leading to the suspension of flights.
According to local media reports, the fire started in the cargo areas at around 2:30 p.m. local time, said fire department official Talha Bin Zasim.
Mohammad Rafi al-Farouq, a duty officer at the Fire and Civil Defense control room, told Xinhua that the fire broke out in the courier service section.
36 fire departments are working to extinguish the fire.
