Kabul, October 18 (Xinhua) — At least 17 civilians, including three cricketers, were killed Friday evening in a Pakistani airstrike in Paktika Province in eastern Afghanistan, local television channel TOLOnews reported Saturday, citing security sources.

The attack occurred around 8:30 PM local time in the village of Khandaro in the Argun district, where a Pakistani aircraft struck a residential building. According to sources, 16 people, including women and children, were also injured.

A high-level Afghan government delegation led by Defense Minister Maulavi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid arrived in the Qatari capital Doha on Saturday, Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said.

According to local media, delegations from Afghanistan and Pakistan will hold talks in Doha to discuss extending the ceasefire and other issues.
