BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — Chinese authorities plan to build a nationwide high-speed computing network with millisecond latency in urban areas by 2027, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced.
On Thursday, the agency announced the launch of a special campaign aimed at providing the country's urban areas with millisecond-level network computing resources to connect data centers to the infrastructure, provide millisecond access to computing resources at critical sites, and operate application terminals.
The Ministry also stated the importance of improving the architecture of the interconnection network between computing centers and improving the network topology when connecting to computing power at critical facilities.
The agency also emphasized ongoing efforts to optimize the efficiency of data transfer for artificial intelligence training and inference. -0-
