Tashkent, October 17 (Xinhua) — Proposals to identify new economic opportunities using space monitoring were discussed in Uzbekistan, the presidential press service reported on Thursday.

"On October 16, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation of proposals to identify new economic opportunities using space monitoring," the statement said.

"In recent years, our country has been actively expanding the use of aerospace data across various economic sectors. In particular, the presidential decree signed on September 30th of this year has taken this work to a qualitatively new level. According to the document, the Uzcosmos agency under the Ministry of Digital Technologies will conduct state space monitoring in the areas of geology, land relations, and ecology at least three times a year. Positions for territorial agency representatives have also been established," the press service reported.

As noted during the presentation, the main task today is to use space analysis to identify new opportunities that can provide a powerful impetus to economic development.

It is noted that special attention is paid to the issues of identifying unused land plots using space monitoring and involving them in economic circulation. –0–
