Vladivostok, October 16 (Xinhua) — A bus carrying employees of a local company overturned in the Amur Region on Thursday. According to regional police, there were 48 people on board.
“It has been preliminarily established that a bus belonging to one of the enterprises overturned as a result of a collision with a passenger car,” the statement said.
The accident occurred in the Svobodnensky District. Traffic police officers and the investigative task force of the Svobodnensky District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as the head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Amur Region Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, are working at the scene.
Earlier, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Amur Region clarified that two bus passengers had died. However, police later refuted this information, stating that the fatalities had not been confirmed. The number of injured has not been reported.
According to another report, one person died and 46 others were hospitalized after an accident involving a bus transporting workers in the Amur Region. The regional prosecutor's office announced this on its Telegram channel.
The department reported that a Toyota Probox collided with a passenger bus carrying more than 50 people working at the Amur Gas Chemical Complex after driving into oncoming traffic. The accident caused the bus to leave the roadway and overturn.
