Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son at Russian Energy Week. The parties discussed trade, economic, and energy cooperation, as well as investment projects.

To increase trade between the two countries, work continues to organize prospective supplies of Russian oil to Vietnamese refineries. Cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy is also developing. Currently, relevant agencies are working to update the regulatory framework, technical specifications, and economic model for the construction of the country's first nuclear power plant, Ninh Thuan-1.
