Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a working meeting with GECF Secretary General Mohamed Hamel as part of Russian Energy Week.
"Russia attaches great importance to strengthening partnerships within the GECF, coordinating efforts to promote the legitimate interests of gas exporters in global energy markets and countering unilateral economic restrictions, as well as enhancing the role of natural gas in global energy markets due to its availability, reliability, versatility, and environmental friendliness," said Alexander Novak.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted Russia's interest in further expanding the GECF's potential, active scientific, analytical, and technological cooperation at the forum, and the Secretariat's work to develop partnerships, including with African countries and international associations, including the G20, BRICS, and APEC.
Alexander Novak also expressed gratitude for the support Russia received during the discussions on holding the 8th GECF summit in Russia in 2026.
