Minsk, October 15 (Xinhua) — Belarus's exports of goods and services from January to August 2025 reached $32.8 billion, exceeding the same period last year by $300 million. The corresponding information was published by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Economy on Tuesday.
Services accounted for the bulk of the growth, growing by nearly $1 billion, primarily due to the transportation and construction sectors. Meanwhile, sales of Belarusian goods were 2.5% lower than last year. The decline was due to volume shipments amid rising average export prices.
The Belarusian Ministry of Economy's press service noted that the country continues to strengthen its position in distant foreign markets. Products under the "Made in Belarus" brand are increasingly gaining consumer trust in Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. Exports to these regions are showing strong growth: exports to Latin America increased by 1.5 times, and to Asian countries by 1.3 times. Exports to Africa have maintained high growth rates for the second year in a row.
A gradual slowdown in imports has also been observed, contributing to an improvement in the foreign trade balance. In August, the negative balance narrowed by $200 million.
