Dushanbe, October 15 (Xinhua) — On the first day of the Dushanbe-Invest-2025 International Investment Forum, 26 agreements and memorandums worth a total of approximately $3.12 billion were signed, the Khovar news agency reported on Wednesday, citing the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan.
The signed documents include a number of major projects in strategically important sectors, including energy, industry, and communications. Energy agreements represent approximately $2.4 billion, confirming Tajikistan's high potential in renewable and traditional energy sources.
Nine agreements worth $386 million were signed in the industrial sector. Communications contracts totaled $333.5 million. Four public-private partnership agreements worth $8.9 million were also signed, reflecting the strengthening of collaboration between the public and private sectors.
In addition, two memorandums were signed with Saudi Arabia at the 5th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade and Cultural Issues.
According to the organizers, the forum has become an important platform for attracting foreign investment and showcasing the country's economic potential. The participation of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in the opening ceremony underscored the event's importance for sustainable economic growth.
The forum, held October 14-16 in Dushanbe, attracted over 1,500 participants from around the world, including investors, entrepreneurs, and experts. The program included plenary sessions, thematic panels, a startup summit, exhibitions, and cultural events. The focus was on the development of a green economy, digitalization, and accelerated industrialization.
