SHENYANG, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — A China-Europe international rail freight train loaded with 54 containers departed the Shenyang Collection and Distribution Center (SDC) in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Tuesday, bound for Moscow. This brings the number of round-trip China-Europe freight train departures and arrivals at the SDC to 2,000.

Over the past two years, since the official commissioning of the SRC in 2023, the number of standard containers (TEU, twenty-foot equivalent unit) handled through it has exceeded 220,000 units, with the average annual volume of import and export of goods in value terms amounting to more than US$200 million.

According to available information, the Shenyang SRC warehouse currently has a capacity of 2,600 TEUs, enabling it to handle 1,500 freight trains annually on China-Europe routes. Transportation corridors have also been established connecting the center with six border crossings, including Manzhouli and Suifenhe, enabling the logistics network to reach over 50 cities in over 20 countries and regions, including Russia and Germany.

The intensive operation of the SRC in Shenyang allows the city to attract companies in cross-border e-commerce and high-tech manufacturing to develop its operations, facilitating the deep integration of production and supply chains. In the first nine months of this year, there was a significant increase in the export of locally produced, specialized goods via China-Europe freight trains, which also carried high-quality goods from abroad on the return journey, ensuring the smooth flow of trade.
