ROME, October 14 (Xinhua) — Three Carabinieri officers were killed and 15 others were injured early Tuesday morning in a gas explosion in northern Italy, ANSA reported.
The explosion reportedly occurred during an eviction operation involving police and firefighters. Three people filled the farmhouse with gas to prevent eviction following a foreclosure due to long-standing debts.
The victims were members of a special paramilitary team sent to evacuate. Local authorities reported that emergency services were on the scene at the time of the explosion, resulting in numerous injuries, including military personnel, police officers, and firefighters.
