City Services specialists replaced the asphalt pavement on Kashirskoye Highway, one of the main thoroughfares in the south of the capital. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Works. Petr Biryukov.

"Maintaining the capital's roads in good condition is a particular priority. Every year, in preparation for the autumn and winter, we organize asphalt pavement renovations. We've also completed road repairs on Kashirskoye Highway. In total, we've repaired over 320,000 square meters of road between the Kashirsky Tunnel and Marshal Zakharov Street, as well as a section of the highway's alternate road," noted Pyotr Biryukov.

Repairs were previously carried out here in 2021. The coating's warranty period had expired, and heavy traffic on the roadway had caused damage and rutting in places, negatively impacting road safety.

The repairs were carried out in several stages. First, specialists milled the existing pavement, then repaired the inspection manholes and storm drain grates. Next, they laid new asphalt, and finally, applied road markings. The work was carried out primarily at night, when traffic is lighter, with partial traffic restrictions.

For asphalt paving, the city utilizes modern technologies and its own asphalt concrete mixes, produced at city-owned plants. Together, these plants produce over two million tons of mix per season.
