BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — Xinhua News Agency Director-General Fu Hua held separate meetings on Tuesday with Brazilian Health Minister Alexandre Padilha and Nicaraguan Canal 13 television director Mauricio Ortega.

During his meeting with A. Padilha, Fu Hua stated that Xinhua intends to deepen cooperation with the Brazilian Ministry of Health and to tell stories about the country's development and China-Brazil cooperation.

Fu Hua called on both sides to jointly promote the improvement of the global governance system, break the shackles of the monopoly of Western discourse, and strengthen close cooperation within multilateral mechanisms.

Congratulating China on its achievements in healthcare, A. Padilla expressed hope that Xinhua, as a media organization with global influence, will disseminate accurate and reliable information to raise international awareness of scientific knowledge and practical practices in healthcare.

Speaking with M. Ortega, Fu Hua noted that after the restoration of diplomatic relations between China and Nicaragua in 2021, a Xinhua team was promptly dispatched to the country to prepare reports and establish cooperation with local media.

Fu Hua emphasized that Xinhua hopes to expand exchanges with Nicaraguan media in areas such as mutual staff visits, professional training, joint reporting and program production, fully realizing the media's role as witnesses, chroniclers and promoters of bilateral ties.

Noting Xinhua's important contribution to the development of exchanges between the two countries' media and Nicaraguan-Chinese relations, M. Ortega, in turn, pointed out that Nicaraguan media often provide news reports from Xinhua, which contributes to strengthening mutual understanding and rapprochement between the two peoples. –0–
