Beijing, October 14 (Xinhua) — From January to August 2025, north China's Hebei Province's trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 251.07 billion yuan (approximately 35.4 billion U.S. dollars), up 7 percent year-on-year. Specifically, exports totaled 153.49 billion yuan, while imports totaled 97.58 billion yuan, up 7 percent and 6.9 percent respectively from the previous year, according to a statement posted on the official website of the General Administration of Customs.

In the first eight months of this year, the range of goods exported by Hebei Province to countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative expanded to 165 types in 60 categories. The main export items were finished industrial products, such as automobiles and auto parts, with exports valued at 21.8 billion yuan and 5.03 billion yuan, respectively. These products accounted for over 20 percent of Hebei Province's total exports to these countries during the reporting period. High-tech exports also saw significant growth.

From January to August of this year, Hebei Province imported 71.85 billion yuan worth of consumer goods from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, up 26.5 percent year-on-year and accounting for 73.6 percent of the province's total imports from these countries during the reporting period. In particular, crude oil imports totaled 22.15 billion yuan, up 494.1 percent year-on-year.
