BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — The closing ceremony of the Global Women's Summit was held in Beijing on Monday afternoon, with State Councilor Shen Yiqin, Chairperson of the All-China Women's Federation, and UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women Sima Sami Bacchus attending and delivering speeches.

As Shen Yiqin noted, the five practical measures announced by China to support the global development of women's issues demonstrate the responsibility of a major power and have received high praise and positive feedback from summit participants.

China is ready to work with other countries to translate the important initiatives and strategic consensus reached during the summit into concrete actions to help more women realize their dreams and achieve success, the State Councilor added.

S.S. Bacchus, for her part, praised China's enormous achievements in women's affairs and its significant contribution to global women's development, stating that all countries should better study China's experience in the field of women's development.

The closing ceremony was attended by approximately 800 delegates from more than 110 countries and international organizations, and a presidential statement was issued following the summit.

Leaders and representatives from 46 countries and international organizations delivered speeches at the plenary session held before the closing ceremony. They called the summit a new milestone in the history of the international women's movement and pledged to take concrete actions to accelerate the process of women's full development.
