BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping said Monday that promoting women's affairs is the shared responsibility of the international community.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Global Women's Summit in Beijing, Xi Jinping said women are important creators, supporters and inheritors of human civilization.
According to him, the current summit is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the 4th UN World Conference on Women in Beijing.
Xi Jinping said that over the past three decades, guided by the spirit of the 1995 conference, the global cause of women has experienced rapid development, making contributions to the progress of human civilization. -0-
