Paris, October 13 (Xinhua) — French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu unveiled the composition of his new government, which includes 34 ministers, on Sunday evening, the Elysee Palace announced.

Laurent Nunes became Minister of the Interior, Jean-Pierre Farandou became Minister of Labour, Monique Barbut became Minister of Ecological Transition, Edouard Geffret became Minister of National Education, and Catherine Vautrin became Minister of Defence.

Roland Lescure was reappointed as Minister of Finance, Jean-Noël Barrot retained his position as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Gérald Darmanin remained at the head of the Ministry of Justice.

According to local media, S. Lecornu previously met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The Prime Minister proposed "a combination of experienced civil society figures and young parliamentarians" for his second cabinet.

S. Lecornu resigned on October 6, less than a month after his initial appointment and just a day after the partial announcement of his cabinet. He was reappointed as prime minister on October 10 amid ongoing political tensions.
