Bratislava, October 13 (Xinhua) — Around 100 people were injured in a collision between two passenger trains on Monday morning in the Košice Region in eastern Slovakia. Two of the injured are in critical condition, Interior Minister Matus Šutaj-Eštok announced at a press conference.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. (08:00 GMT). Both high-speed trains were carrying a large number of passengers, local media reported. Three people remain trapped in the wreckage.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. –0–
