Ürümqi, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) — At 10:00 a.m. Saturday, a freight train loaded with electronics, electromechanical products, and household goods departed from the Horgos border crossing in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for the Polish station of Małaszewicze. This event brought the number of China-Europe/China-Central Asia freight trains that have passed through this crossing to the 50,000-mark.
Let us recall that the first China-Europe freight train passed through the Khorgos checkpoint in March 2016.
Currently, at least 27 freight trains on average per day pass through this border crossing, which is located on the border between China and Kazakhstan, operating on the China-Europe/China-Central Asia railway routes. In addition, a total of 90 international China-Europe/Central Asia railway freight routes pass through Khorgos, covering 46 cities and regions in 18 countries.
