PARIS, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) — French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday evening reappointed Sebastien Lecornu as Prime Minister after he resigned four days ago.
The Elysée Palace statement said that S. Lecornu has been tasked with forming a new government.
The reappointed prime minister wrote on his social media page that the political crisis, which has provoked public anger and damaged France's image and interests, must end. He promised to do everything possible to finalize the country's budget by the end of the year.
S. Lecornu resigned on Monday, less than a month after being appointed president and just a day after announcing part of his cabinet. He stated that the conditions for him to remain in office were not met.
