GUANGZHOU, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) — A total of 72 batches of exhibits were brought into China for the 138th China Import and Export Fair, known as the Canton Fair, from September 16 to October 11. The total value of these shipments amounted to 3.96 million yuan (about $557,370), Guangzhou Customs said Saturday.

According to customs data, the influx of exhibits will continue in the coming days as the fair approaches.

The 138th Guangzhou Fair is scheduled to open on October 15 in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, southern China. Its import pavilion will cover 30,000 square meters.

To date, 222 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, including Egypt, Turkey, Thailand, and Japan, have brought their products to China. The product range covers categories such as kitchen appliances, metal tools, and mechanical equipment.

To facilitate the import process, Guangzhou Customs has issued special measures, including exemption from security deposits, on-site inspection, and the opening of a “green channel” for priority customs clearance. -0-
