BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) — Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, attended a reception Thursday to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) at the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Beijing.
Cai Qi congratulated the WPK on behalf of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, noting that the WPK has a glorious and long-standing revolutionary tradition. He stated that under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong-un, the socialist cause in the DPRK has gained new vitality and energy.
Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, stated that China firmly supports the Workers' Party of Korea and the North Korean people in pursuing a development path suited to their national conditions. China is willing to work with the DPRK to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, strengthen strategic communication, deepen exchanges and mutual learning, and expand practical cooperation, writing a new chapter in China-North Korea relations in the new era and making positive contributions to regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity, added Cai Qi.
North Korean Ambassador to China Ri Ren-nam, for his part, assured that his country is ready to work with China to steadily strengthen and enhance its traditional friendship, promoting the continuity and development of North Korean-Chinese relations to new heights.
