Prague, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) — Industrial leaders and officials from China and the Czech Republic called for closer economic cooperation on Monday, highlighting shared opportunities in industrial innovation at the China-Czech Business Summit 2025 in Brno.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Martin Frelich noted that trade and economic relations between the two countries have a deep foundation, long-term potential, and a clear vision for the future.
He said China is one of the Czech Republic's largest trading partners, and that new opportunities are emerging in areas such as industrial modernisation, automation, digitalisation and sustainable development.
The President of the Czech Association of Mechanical Engineering Technologies, Jan Riedl, noted the rapid growth of bilateral trade in machine tools in recent years, calling it a sign of the “high and constantly deepening” level of cooperation in this sector.
Liu Haiyan, Counselor for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic, stated that the foundation of Chinese-Czech trade and economic relations is solid and the prospects remain broad.
China intends to work with the Czech government, business circles and civil society to strengthen political coordination, improve interaction and deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges to promote the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations, the Chinese diplomat emphasized.
