Beijing, October 7 (Xinhua) — China is willing to work with the Republic of Korea (ROK) to strengthen mutual trust, avoid disruptions, deepen cooperation, and promote each other's success to ensure regional peace, stability, and prosperity. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a telephone conversation with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun on Tuesday.
According to Wang Yi, due to the fact that the two countries are important neighbors and close partners, China always attaches great importance to its relations with the ROK.
As ROK and China will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) informal summits this year and next year respectively, Wang Yi expressed hope that the two sides will support each other in reaching consensus, strengthening solidarity and cooperation, safeguarding the international trading system, upholding multilateralism, and advancing the process of establishing the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area to build an Asia-Pacific community.
In turn, Cho Hyun stated that the Republic of Korea pays special attention to relations with China and will make every effort to promote their development.
He expressed hope that Kazakhstan will take advantage of the opportunities provided by the informal APEC Leaders' Meeting to promote high-level exchanges between the two countries and deepen interaction and cooperation. –0–
