Beijing, October 7 (Xinhua) — Rainfall and cooler temperatures are expected in many parts of China in the coming days, coinciding with the peak of return passenger traffic due to the end of the National Day holiday, the country's National Meteorological Center reported.
According to the center's chief forecaster, Yang Shunan, moderate to heavy rain is expected in Chinese regions including eastern Gansu Province, southern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, northern Shaanxi Province, central and southern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and some parts of northern China from the evening of October 7 to 9.
The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will experience prolonged rain and a cooler climate from October 8 to 10, with moderate to heavy downpours expected in many places. According to the forecast, continuous rainfall may continue for several hours, resulting in significant precipitation.
In addition, heavy rains will hit parts of Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the coming days.
The agency noted that such weather conditions could negatively impact return travel due to the end of the eight-day National Day holiday, which will last until October 8. Residents are advised to monitor weather forecasts, take necessary precautions, and adjust their travel plans if necessary.
