The State University of Management has launched the "School of Honest Restauranteurs" course, which teaches students how to avoid mistakes when opening their own restaurant.
The training will run from October to December and consist of 10 thematic lessons, covering everything from finding a unique concept and choosing a location to building the economics and operating system of the future establishment.
The first lecture was given by program partners, Yana and Natalie Dmitrenko, founders of the popular seafood bar chain "Honest Fish."
"We know how difficult it is to start from scratch, and that's why we share not just theory, but practical experience proven in real-world business. This course is an opportunity for future restaurateurs and valuable employees to gain essential knowledge that truly works, and to move forward more quickly and successfully, without unnecessary losses," said Natalie Dmitrenko.
Classes will be held in a hybrid format: some meetings will be online, others will be in person at the State University of Management. Participants will also have the opportunity to intern directly at the chain's seafood bars and gain insight into the workings of a successful project.
"We actively advocate for honest relationships in business—with guests, employees, suppliers, and contractors—and we know for sure that this approach leads to success. We believe that students will share these values and develop the restaurant market in an equally open and honest manner in the future," added Yan Dmitrenko.
The course concludes with a presentation of their own restaurant concepts and feasible projects. The best team will receive not only a certificate with a 50,000 ruble deposit but also the opportunity to join the Honest Fish team.
